In the vain of the title, this will be very quick.

Think of social posts as headlines: Short and to the point. The image, video, or link (which should populate a viable image and description) in the post should compliment your text and vice versa.

On Twitter, if you need all 280 characters, your post is probably too long. If you need more than 140 characters, you should really think about cutting it down. Seriously.

Facebook and Instagram… if I need to hit the “more” button, your post is too long and I have likely moved on. If your hashtags or extra and non-essential content is past that point, it’s fine. Nothing crucial to the post, please.

Same goes for LinkedIn.

Creating posts is the art of being concise. Okay, rant done… and in less than 150 words!
